Best Makeup Primer Ever?!

When you think of primers, you typically think of the stuff you put on before your make up but having recently found out about this handy stuff, I've never looked back!

So usually when you think of primers you'd think of Urban Decay, Smashbox and MAC but my absolute favourite primer of all time is now this men's after shave product. Don't let that put you off though, sometimes the most unexpected products work the best and that's what makes makeup and beauty products so fun!

I first heard about this from a youtuber who raved about it and said it was the best primer she had ever used! I've never been able to find a decent primer that keeps my makeup looking fresh all day long, so I was pretty curious as to how this one was apparently so good! Plus it's only like £3.50 in most drug stores so what is there to lose?

I did a bit of research about it before I went and bought it as I didn't really fancy having a face full of spots, so I wanted to see what other people had said about it. A lot of them mentioned the fact it has an ingredient called 'Glycerine' in it. This magic ingredient basically acts as a 'glue' for your makeup, to ensure it stays looking fresh and flawless all day long! And boy does it stay on all day, I'm literally so impressed with it that I'm using it every single day I apply makeup. I apply this after I've left my moisturiser to sink in for a few minutes and then pop on a small amount of this. I usually let it sit for a minute or so and then apply my makeup as usual. To finish I spritz on the Urban Decay Setting spray and then that's it! It really does last all day and I always come home looking the same as I did when I left! It does have a slight manly smell to it (as expected) but I personally think it smells really damn good, plus the smell disappears after like 20 minutes if that's what you're worried about!

The texture of it is just like a really light moisturising lotion and glides over the skin really nicely! It's not thick or overly sticky so it doesn't feel like you've even put anything on your skin! If you've been struggling to find a decent primer then I really suggest you give this a go! I think you'd be pleasantly surprised! You can purchase it here in the UK on the Boots or Superdrug website, they usually have it on offer so what other excuse have you got?!

  1. I read about this the other day and kinda didn't believe it so your blog post I think confirms it for me, I might give it a try. It's a pretty good alternative to the normal m/u primers you can buy in the stores.
